The journey started by entering the keyword “how to make money online” and after some research, he found the book Google Cash. That one book changed the course of his career and from that point on, internet marketing was anything he could think of.
He read anything available on the internet about marketing, copywriting, website building etc. It was fun then because it was simple times and you could learn quickly.
When the dots came together, the most obvious way to do business online was affiliate marketing and boy it was amazing doing that in 2004. Everything you had to do was to bid on some keywords on Google and direct link to the offer and you would make 75% of commission on a PDF download. Sweet & easy ka-ching 😎
In 2005 Peter was still a student and started freelancing with a local agency Iprom that was running their own ad server and was working with all of the biggest local and international brands present on the local market. Coca-Cola, Good Year, Sony, Honda, Ford … etc. were managed on a regular basis.
In 2007 there was a National Direct Marketing Championship in Slovenia and Peter applied. Out of more than 150 contestants coming mostly from agencies and media houses, he came 3rd.
That gave Peter some boost in the local market, and he landed some more clients from Slovenia and the first one from Germany, which was Neckemann.
Slowly the traction was being built, and Peter got invited to speak at many conferences about Google Ads, formerly AdWords and also the company entity was formed for the first time.
Freelance life was good, business grew but it became a hustle in 2010 so Peter invited a student to help him with the freelancing efforts. It was that important moment when Google and Facebook ads freelancing transformed into a consultancy service.
That new endeavor was going well, but Peter missed the action, Peter wanted to dive deep into the nitty and gritty of performance marketing and make it work and because his clients wouldn’t want to walk that extra mile, he decided to go back into affiliate marketing in 2012.
In late 2012, the next level of performance marketing was unleashed in the form of mobile marketing.
These were the times when Peter invested everything he had in this business. That means everything, from life insurance to savings plus borrowing money … These mobile marketing campaigns needed lots of capital, but were also very rewarding.
Mobile marketing was one of the best learning curves since 2004 as when you apply your own funds on a massive scale, you have two things in hand: 100% freedom & 100% responsibility, simply meaning you have all the freedom to scale the business but if you F it up, you’re gone for good.
The business was expanding almost 2x month by month, but the pace became unsustainable, so at the beginning of 2014, Peter decided to move on from affiliate marketing to forming a digital marketing team that would possess the skills of a hard-core affiliate marketer and apply these skills to the marketing efforts of our clients.
2016 the company was awarded Google Premier Partner status for the first time. Back then the team still worked under the Peters consultancy company. We received the status because we started running international campaigns that were proportionally bigger than the ones from the local market.
In 2017 the company rebranded to Dinetix, the name behind which we still proudly stand for today.. Dinetix is short for Digital Genetics, and the idea for the name comes from the fact that the Dinetix team is responsible for creating and crafting the Digital Genetics of companies that want to scale their business in the digital playground.
Today it is not about our founder anymore, but Dinetix has become an idea of digital marketing excellence backed up by experience, skills, and performance data. Today Dinetix works with their own 3×3 by Dinetix™ process that allows methodical implementation of marketing strategy to the market and continuous growth because of its perpetual nature.
